The Acura RSX was introduced as replacement for the Acura Integra in 2002. The average consumer as well as hardcore car fanatics immediately took to this revamped model for its exquisite design, impeccable finishing and impressive performance. Acura RSX was specifically targeted for consumers looking for optimum performance at an affordable price in the luxury car segment. Instead of the double-wishbone suspensions in the front as well as the rear, the RSX incorporated Macpherson struts in the front suspension.

Another modification made to the Acura RSX was the replacement of the B-series engine in the Integra with an upgraded K-series engine. Apart from the positive points it had in common with the B-series engine, the K-series engine came with i-VTEC which was capable of making valve lift, timing and duration adjustments. This provided the 2.0 liter engine with more refined power transition and a torque curve which was considerably flatter than in earlier engines which possessed VTEC features.

The Acura RSX car model which was launched in 2006 had two variations with respect to its trim levels. There was the base trim level which is more suited to the daily commuters and the Type-S which has enhanced mechanical features making it better in terms of driving experience and optimum performance. However, both cars have acquired a reputation for their easy accessibility and control. A great deal of the overall convenient handling of the car is attributed to the steering which responds quite adeptly to the driver’s requirements. This is also one of the reasons that have made the Acura RSX one of the top sport hatchbacks since its introduction in 2002.

The Acura RSX which has base trim levels comes with a 160 horsepower K20A3 engine along with a five-speed automatic or manual transmission. This Acura car model is also equipped with automatic climate control and cruise control features. Other specialties of this model are power windows and moon roof. The four cylinder engine is an added incentive to the car which makes for an exciting driving experience. The consumer also has the choice to customize the seating in leather. The Acura Type-S RSX was upgraded from the earlier engine which ran through till 2004 from the initial 200 horsepower output to a 210 horsepower output.

The more advanced K20Z1 motor was also incorporated into the engine in 2005 to replace the former K20A2 in the previous Acura model. It was also equipped with a six-speed manual transmission with no other options available to the consumer in this regard. Like the Acura base RSX, the Type-S too has a four cylinder engine but is admired for its more sophisticated suspension and efficient brakes. The Acura RSX in either of the trim levels provides a higher fuel economy compared to other cars in the same segment. The arrangement of the leather seating is specifically designed to provide comfort and relaxation to the inmates of the car. The model released in 2005 was slightly modified in order to ensure superior driving and control to lure even more consumers to purchase this fabulous car.
